Ministry of Culture Praised Love Destiny 2 as An Example for Thai Soft Power
Ministry of Culture and BEC arranged an event to understand how one of the most popular series, Love Destiny 2, can contribute Thai Soft Power to generate international attention about Thainess, and the event was opened by Minister of Culture, Mr. Sermsak Pongpanich.
The event started with a seminar with panelist to understand Soft Power implementation. The panelist included the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Culture (Ms. Yupa Taweewattanakitborvon), the president of the Radio Television Broadcasting Professional Federation (Mr. Khematat Poladech), ‘Love Destiny 2’ Producer (Ms. Arunosha Bhanubandhu), and the Director of Tourism of Ayutthaya (Ms. Sukanya Bao-Nerd) and joined by actors from the series who are Punpreedee Khumprom Rodsaward (PP), Tadsapon Wiwitawan (Peterpan), Kanin Stanley (Ohm), and Patarapon Too-Un (Ron). The seminar was hosted by Saifon Cheechang.
The seminar focused on the items of soft power we could gather from the Love Destiny 2. The learnings will be able to help to expand more Soft Power that are from a film and to understand how government can support private sectors to build more fame of Thailand through TV series. The panalists expected that when Thai culture was known from situation tied in with drama contexts, it can naturally attract audeiineces who will travel to Thailand, and that will create more income for communities at the end. The Love Destiny 2 was a drama that have been popular since the premiere. It was not only gaining high TV rating, but also was highly talk-about on X (Twitter) worldwide trend.
