On January 28^th, 2023, Channel 3 by Mr. Charkrit Direkwattanachai, EVP - Corporate Affairs and Communications, joined “Action Day PM2.5 BKK” event which organized by Pollution Department, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), together with relevant agencies from public, private and civil society sectors, to raise awareness among Bangkok residents on tackling PM2.5 pollution via the “Action Day PM2.5 BKK” event by reducing road traffic which would reduce PM2.5 dust. The event was held at Benchakitti Park on Saturday and presided over by Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt.

“Action Day PM2.5 BKK” event was held in cooperation from public to private sectors to tackle pollution effectively in different ways, including working from home, managing work shifts, promoting the use of public transport, using electric vehicles, and raise awareness among their employees to reduce source of air pollution. The air pollution in Bangkok tends to run high during October to February each year which the weather is not conductive to the spread of fine dust. As a result, the accumulation of fine dust in the air is increasing.  

At the event, there were various activities regarding air pollution and its solutions, such as Air Purifier DIY, “The future city for child rights to breathe clean air” exhibition, “Low Emission Zone” exhibition, the talk of “BKk Risk Map”, etc.

As public media, Channel 3 realizes the importance of environment management, including the air pollution solutions. Therefore, we will raise awareness among general public regarding the air pollution and PM2.5 dust which will lead to change behavior eventually.
