Channel 3 organized “Channel 3 planted a thousand trees with Bangkok Governor” to expand the green areas of the capital
On September 16, 2022, Channel 3 by Mr. Surin Krittayaphongphun, President of TV Business Unit, executives and employees led a team of news anchors, i.e. Sorayuth Suthassanachinda and Pitchayatun Chanphut from “Rueng Lao Chao Nee” news program, Dr. Arisara Kamthorncharoen from “Tieng Wan Tan Hed Karn” news program, Parinda Kumthumpinij from “Ruang Den Yen Nee” news program, Kitti Singhapat from “3 Miti” news program together with Punyavee Sukkulworasate and Apisara Kerdchuchuen from “Phuying Yok Kamlung Jaew” variety show and Patcharin Srivasupirom from “Zaab Plaza” variety show, joined the event “Channel 3 planted a thousand trees with Bangkok Governor” with Bangkok Governor, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, at 80th Anniversary Celebration Garden (Sukhumvit 48/1), Klongtoei District, Bangkok. This event is a part of “the Bangkok Governor challenges the media to plant a million tress” campaign to have at least one million trees planted in the capital during his four-year tenure. At the event, the governor planted Trumpet tree (Care Na) and joined the planting of trees with Channel 3’s executive and employees and all participants, of which 1,000 trees are planted with 16 types of trees.
The green agenda “Planting One Million Trees” of the Bangkok Governor, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, would help Bangkok achieve its goal of creating green spaces and walls to filters dust all over the city, shading in living, promoting the diversity of urban ecosystems, generating income for communities, and people and trees can be grew together. So the governor encouraged Bangkok citizens, media outlets and all sectors to participate in the campaign of “Planting One Million Trees” throughout the capital. On July 10th, 2022, Channel 3’s executive, employees, news anchors, actor and actress joined forces the event “Kick off, the Bangkok Governor challenges the media to plant a million tress” at Suan 9 Hills, Ban Bong District, which was the beginning of Channel 3 and media outlets to join the tree planting activity in this campaign in order to be achieved the governor’s goal during his four-year tenure.
At the event, the Bangkok Governor thanks to Channel 3 for joining “the Bangkok Governor challenges the media to plant a million tress” campaign and also thanks all participants for joining hands together, namely, The Expressway Authority of Thailand, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Khlongtoei District Office, Dow Thailand Group, Tetra Pak (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and Koh Klang Community. We can change the Bangkok city if we join hands together, with everyone planting a tree. As trees grow, they help stop global warming and climate change.
Today, representatives from public and private sectors joined the event, including Assoc. Prof. Wisanu Subsompon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Mr. Dumkerng Pankam, Deputy Governor for Operation of the Expressway Authority of Thailand, the land tenure of 80th Anniversary Celebration Garden (Sukhumvit 48/1), Ms. Piyathida Niyom, Khlongtoei District Office Director, Mr. Chatchai Luanpolcharoenchai, President of Dow Thailand Group, sponsored the cost of the trees and soil, Tetra Pak (Thailand) Co., Ltd., sponsored the recycled benches made of beverage carton, and Mrs. Jurairat Kruapimai, the leader of Koh Klang Community Enterprise.
Channel 3 and all participants will play a vital part in the green agenda “Planting One Million Trees” of the Bangkok Governor to help fight the global warming and air pollution to emphasize the environmental sustainable development goal of Bangkok.
