Channel 3, a partner in the "Public Sector, Private Sector, and Civil Society Partnership Project for Sustainable Plastic and Waste Management," supported the "Bangkok Zero Waste Park" project, promoting waste sorting behavior in public park. The event took place on April 21
st, 2022, at Benchakitti Forest Park in Bangkok.

Due to the urbanization and changes in people's lifestyles, Bangkok's consumption rate has risen. The volume of waste in Bangkok in 2021 was as high as 9,500 tons per day, and the figure is expected to increase. As a result of the growing volume of waste, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administrator included waste management guidelines in the city’s 20-year development plan (2013 to 2032) with the mission of “focusing on waste management at the source, in accordance with the concept of Zero Waste Management”. The guidelines are intended to raise people's awareness of waste management with regard to the 3R-principle: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. As a result, waste volume will be constantly reduced; waste can be recycled and reused as renewable resources; and waste residue can be managed by using effective technology.

As Channel 3 recognizes the significance of sustainable waste management, the corporate representatives, namely, Mr. Charkrit Direkwattanachai, EVP-Corporate Affairs and Communications, Ms. Supida Chatrapiruk, Corporate Sustainability Manager of BEC Group, and Pon Nawasch Phupantachsee, the actor, joined the launch event of “The First Bangkok Zero Waste Park” to promote the concept of waste sorting behavior in the public park, and to support Benchakitti Forest Park as Thailand’s first sustainable waste management park in the hope that the concept will later be applied to other public parks in Bangkok in the future.
