Subject: To inform the details of damages incurred by fire during the
unrest, at our site last week.
To: President
The Stock Exchange of Thailand
One of the incidents relating to political rally which turned into
the unrest situation last week is fire at the Maleenont Tower which is the site
of our office on the 19th of May, 2010. Thus, we want to inform the details of
damages incurred upon us as follows:-
1.) The fire was happened in the area which does not occupied directly by the
Group, i.e. central service area or area occupied by other tenants.
2.) The Group incurred some damages from sprinkle system's water which
flooded our power control room but the repair costs were just about Baht
100,000; and 2 of our News department's vehicles with book value of about
Baht 350,000 parked in front of the office were also gutted by fire.
3.) Because of the unrest in front of our office at the time our management
asked for helps from the Government Authorities to evacuate our
employees out off the buildings for their safety and decided to turn the
broadcasting of our Channel 3 off from 15.45 p.m. of May 19, 2010 until
11.30 a.m. of May 21, 2010. The losses of our advertising revenues
through out the 45 hours which we were blacked out plus another 50 hours
during 11.30a.m. of May 21 to 06.00 am. this morning when we started
our normal business; were estimated at about Baht 120 millions. However,
we did also save some programming costs during that 95 hours, as well.
Please be informed accordingly.
Sincerely yours,
(Chatchai Thiamtong)
